Why choose it?
Microsoft SQL Server 2005 works especially well with ASP and ASP.net (including the latest ASP.Net 2.0, available at LiquidSix), but is
supported by other programming languages also. It offers full support for
many advanced database technologies, including the popular stored
procedures which are unavailable with some less advanced database systems. Most professional ASP.net
driven scripts require, or at least support, SQL Server.
SQL Server has historically been a very expensive technology, but at LiquidSix
we have been working to introduce it at a price point that is available to
everyone. By utilising the Workgroup Edition of SQL Server, we are able to offer
it at an affordable price. The workgroup edition is cheaper because it does not
include some of the features needed on an internal business server, while still
including everything you need to run your website! By removing these unnecessary
features, you can enjoy the power of SQL Server at a fraction of the price.
How can I access it?
Microsoft SQL Server can be accessed via ASP.Net, classic ASP and other languages. So that you can setup and maintain your database, we also allow external access to the server from outside of our network. This means that you can connect to it with any SQL Server client from a PC. Microsoft provide a free client called "SQL Server Management Studio Express". Full details on downloading and using it can be found here:

What are my options for purchasing it?
There are two ways to gain access to SQL Server. The first is to purchase (or upgrade to) a plan which includes it. The current available plans which include SQL Server 2005 are:
